“Gambatte — Don’t Give Up Hope to Save the Keiro Homes”
The Ad Hoc Committee to Save Keiro invites the community to the “Save Keiro” Town Hall on Monday, November 23, 2015, 7 pm to 9 pm, at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center’s Aratani Theatre, 244 S. San Pedro St., Los Angeles, 90012.
The following will be addressed:
- Our research that revealed significant details of the sale that were not provided to the public
- Information discovered about Pacifica’s current facilities for the elderly
- Acknowledgment of your voice to stop the sale
- Next steps to stop the sale
“We ask the community to not give up hope in spite of the recent setback with the Attorney General’s denial of our petition to stop the sale and hold a public hearing,” the executive committee said in a statement. “We are pursuing other avenues that have come to our attention. We will share these at the Town Hall.”
A question and answer period will take place during the second hour. Keiro CEO Shawn Miyake and the board are invited to answer your questions.
The committee asks community groups to select a spokesperson to ask one question. To avoid duplication, groups are asked to submit their questions by Sunday, November 22, to Lynn Arthurs at larthurs@lfainsurance.com
Individuals are also welcome to submit questions. Because of the one-hour time limit, groups and individuals will be signed up on a list in order of submission. Those who do not make the list can still submit their written questions to be answered later by the Ad Hoc committee.
The Keiro articles of incorporation allow compensation for services by the board of directors, what compensation have they been receiving for their services over the years?
